Ring Troubleshooting

Ring issues usually come from one of four places: power, connectivity, simulator mismatch, or gesture interpretation. Work through them in that order.

If the ring will not connect

• Confirm the ring is charged.
• Check Bluetooth access on the host system.
• Make sure you are not accidentally pointing Gestura at a simulator when using hardware, or vice versa.

If haptics do not fire

• Verify haptic_enabled is turned on.
• Check haptic intensity and pattern settings.
• Confirm the workflow is actually producing feedback events.

If gestures feel unreliable

• Test with a simple, repeatable gesture first.
• Reduce surrounding movement and noise in your test environment.
• Use verbose BLE logging only if you need deep diagnostics.

When to escalate

If ring behavior is still unstable after basic checks, gather the current ring mode, whether you are using hardware or simulator, and any relevant logs before reaching out for help.
